I did not realize this was an old thread. I recently came back after taking a little break in my shooting.

Congratulations on your Remington. I have always been a fan of the 700. It appears to me in the current Remington offerings that there are varying levels of quality. I’m sure that the lower raking models do no receive the same level of craftsmanship to stay competitive at that price point. I have also recently a new to me lightly used .300…[Read more]

Larry,
I’m curious about what your mount set-up is for the T-6 on your SAKO M39.MTtimberline replied to the topic Nothing new here in the forum News, humor, off topic, politics, religion, prepping 2 years, 9 months ago
That’s funny and scary at the same time.

Has anyone had experience with sending old Weaver T series scopes to Optical Services Company? What better place to send it to than the guy that designed it? What benefit, if any, does having the old ones blueprinted have over new products? Basically steel vs aluminum tube models.
I have a Weaver T36 xr that I recently purchased on…[Read more]

Has anyone had experience with sending old Weaver T series scopes to Optical Services company? What better place to send it to than the guy that designed it? I have a Weaver T36 xr that I recently purchased on clearance from Midway and I had been very impressed with. By going this route I have been able to purchase multiple scopes for different…[Read more]

Congratulations on the very nice group results with the NIB Mueller. What are the issues with the other scopes that could be causing the undesired results. What velocity did that load make? What plans do you have for the cast 30XCB bullet in that rifle with the .30-06 length and 12 twist? I’m interested to know about your cast load results in…[Read more]

What twist and length will the Krieger on the 30xcb be?

If that doesn’t work…remove radiator cap and hold it there, roll truck out from underneath, roll new truck under cap and screw cap back on.

I was not crazy about the idea of a scout scope but that setup might be worth trying. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have had good results for a couple years with the 314299 GC w/ White Label BAC over 28-31 gr 4895 w/ .7 gr Dacron. I give credit to Larry Gibson for suggesting this load on the other forum. I have tried I t with and without the filler and the Dacron definitely makes a noticeable difference. It has also worked well for working up a load in…[Read more]

My list is ever changing and the time line is sure to stretch past the two year mark. For my shooting interests, my list looks something like this at the moment.
1. Build a dedicated cast custom rifle with a slower twist for my 30xcb to carry out my own research and experiences with higher velocity cast. For this I haven’t decided to use one…[Read more]MTtimberline replied to the topic HEMI and other stuff known as life in the forum News, humor, off topic, politics, religion, prepping 2 years, 9 months ago
I second the suggestion to install a manual gauge to confirm there is an oil pressure issue or an electrical/sensor/gauge issue before doing any major work on the engine. It will give a better idea of which direction to go than find out the issue is still present after investing the cost and time of any unnecessary intensive repairs. Not saying…[Read more]

I’m considering mounting a scope on my current Mosin to see if it has the accuracy potential it is hinting and having even more fun with it and the NOE 314299. I’d like to leave it as is but it has been import stamped so probably just going to have fun with it. Looking into receiver mounts for my best option.

Like I have said many times:
This is a free country. You have total freedom. You have the freedom of speech and the freedom to do what you want, but you can’t exercise both at the same time.
So:
Do what you want and either say nothing, or tell people exactly what they want to hear and let the rough edge drag.
OR

What a masterpiece with such attention to detail! What is the typical wait time on a MBT rifle? Is that a T-36 or T-24 sitting on top?
MTtimberline replied to the topic Target scope reticles in the forum Main Forum 2 years, 11 months ago
I used the Weaver T-36 for the first time today. I put it on my Rem 700 .22-250 for some load development. I am really liking this scope so far but must say that it will take some getting used to compared to what I’m used to. First shot after installing it was 2 inches to the left and four inches low. After adjusting the turrets second shot…[Read more]
