I had a TC Hawken rifle come through that needed a little MBT TLC.

The barrel was typical. Crested flats, radiused corners, shoddy bluing.

The first thing I did was take off the plug on the back of the barrel, and clean it out with the Foredom real well. Then I lapped the barrel for a couple hours with 220 grit, got rid of a constriction in the middle, and cut in a slight choke.

Then I drawfiled the barrel flats, and actually got them “flat”.

Here you can see the green cut with the factory rounded corners still visible:

And here you can see the flats fully established, and sharpened, then block sanded with 220 grit directionalized to the run of the barrel.

Now a light buffing with the 100, 120, 220, 350, and 400 grit buffs, careful not to lose much of my sharp edge.
