I stopped by the local Gun Shop today looking for some AA1680 and CFE-BLK for AK-47 testing…

They were all out, but did have some SR4759!  And it was on sale for $20 a bottle!!  So I took all they had, which was 3#

I bought it for just general cast bullet loads in everything,
But it is about the right burn rate for the 7.62×39… Has anybody had any experience with it in the short 30-Rusky?

I’ve got some 123gn Barnes X that I’m going to load for Pigs, but have been looking at the Hornady 123gn Spire Points.

I dont know about 4759, but 4198 is indeed good for 7.62×39.

IMR 4759 has been out of production for several years. You did indeed strike gold. It is considered by many the best powder for reduced power loads in rifles, especially with cast bullets.

There are better powders for 7.62×39.
