I recently resized some 250 Savage brass. I have no idea the history of brass as to the number of firings. Some cases will chamber just fine and others the bolt won’t close on. My first thought was it was too long. I trimmed two of them and the bolt still won’t close. It chambers fine though. Is it possible the brass was fired in greatly worn chamber and my Redding dies will not get it back down to spec? I have never had this issue before.

You don’t mention what press you are using, however I had this issue when I changed over to my Redding T7 press with 250 Savage Brass. I had to make sure the ram really “cam’d over” much harder than when I was using my Lyman press. Just food for thought…..

I’m using a Rock Chucker. I’ll try more “cam over” and see what happens.

No worries, it through me for a loop too! Glad you got it worked out! I ran the old Lyman T-Mag for years, changed over to these Redding T7’s and I had that issue with 250 Savage, 243 Win, and 7mm SAUM so far.

I’ve almost pulled the trigger on a T7 several times. How do you like them?
