Have been using a Ruger target model 22 with upgraded trigger parts.  It’s accurate but not exciting or unique.

I just completed a rail installation with four 8-40 screws and a new Ultra Dot from Black Friday sale.

Crisp 2.8 lb trigger CZ 75 SA with the Kadet top end.  I have to wait until Tues. to sight in and test.

I’m already thinking about lower rings with a more streamlined appearance.  These red dot units from Ultra hold up well on 1911, 45ACP slides.  Should last forever on a 22 where only the inner bolt moves.

I have a Ruger Mk III 22/45 with a cheap truglo Red Dot on it.

To my amazement and surprise that pistol will consistently put 10 inside a pop cap at 20 feet.  I blame it all on my wife of course. She is the one who when she shot my Hipoint Carbine  with a red dot asked if she could get one on her Mk III 22/45.

After shooting her’s, I had to set mine up the same.

The more I shoot it the more I enjoy it, and the faster it gets.

Hey GhostHawk, noodle around with the ammo. That setup should let you nip off spent 12 gauge shells on demand at 20 feet.

Nip them off, heck I could just about hit primers!

Really want to take that girl out to the country with a box of empty can’s and someone with a decent arm. I know that girl will take them in the air, I suspect more than once per can.

Just got back from the indoor range.  First time firing with the new Ultra Dot.  Two hand standing @ 50 feet.  3 inch black.

First, sighting in target.  Aguila pistol match.

Second target with SK Standard +.  20 shots.  15 with dominant left eye and 5 with right eye.  Interesting how the group shifted position.

    Artful,

I do have access.  I’m too cheap to buy the CZ75 inserts.

I am sure that the groups will shrink after I get over this mother of all head colds.  Just the ventilation system with the cool air blowing was making me cough.

Considering that this was my first 40 rounds with this new system, it worked out pretty well.  I did have one failure to fire on the first hammer strike with the SK (I prefer external hammers).  I have set the hammer spring as light as possible but still reliability.  It may have been a bit too cold for that particular ammo.  Pistol match ammo is slightly higher velocity.  I think the trick will be ammo that is just above the subsonic match ammo but still considered standard velocity.

Next week I’ll try GECO semi auto and Norma Tac as well as SK Pistol match.

Not a Ransom Rest, but a solid bench rest.  Tested at 50 ft. with SK Standard+.  20 shots.  Only changes to gun are replacement of funky aluminum rings with lower, all steel rings and a shorter reach trigger.  2.25# pull weight.
