I need to either replace or re-magnetize the dampening system in a old Lyman M5.  What is the best way to recharge the magnetism in the twin magnets?

    Thanks

To magnatize a bolt, you wrap a wire around it and hit it with a DC charge from a battery for a second.
You might be able to find some rare earth magnets on Ebay.

This link will take you to an article that will explain the process. The article specifies Neodymium magnets, but you can do it with any magnet. From the photo I found online, it might be easier to just replace the magnets. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

BTW, on shooters’ forum a guy said he replaced his magnets with more powerful ones, and it improved the performance of the scale.
