      Mathew 28:1-10
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.
And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
“Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

      Luke 24:1-35
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
      While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing;
and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee,
saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
      And they remembered His words,
and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles.
But these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them.
But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.
      The Road to Emmaus
And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was Lit 60 stadia; one stadion was about 600 ftabout seven miles from Jerusalem.
And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place.
While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them.
But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him.
And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.
One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, “Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?”
And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people,
and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him.
But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.
But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning,
and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive.
Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see.”
And He said to them, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?”
Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther.
But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them.
When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.
They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?”
And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them,
saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon.”
They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

My friends, today is the very best day of the year for me, and above is the reason why. If you do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior, you are welcome here, but I do wish you might reconsider. Regardless, this is the driving force in my life and in truth, I probably would not be alive today without this beautiful truth. The world is just too ugly and hurtful. The work is never done, and evil is persistent to the grave. Without the hope of my Lord Jesus Christ, I would have no rose colored glasses thick enough to continue on here. But since He is risen on the third day in all power and glory, and seated at the right hand of the Father as an atonement (not just for my sin, but for that of the world) and as an advocate to those who are called by his name, not only is life worth living, but love abounds, and life is worth living WELL. The effort I give here, and to those who I have helped flows directly from this thing my Lord did 2000 years ago. Not only can I live in piece with all men, but I have hope for the other side. In a world of sin, trouble, and heartbreak there is GOOD NEWS!!!! GREAT NEWS!!! NEWS WORTH LIVING AND DYING FOR!!!
Praise the Lord and let forgiveness and love flow from every place on earth!!! Jesus lives.

I wish a special blessing on each of you today, and great happiness!!!

He is Risen Indeed! Hallelujah! Go forth and spread the good news!

Blessings be upon you and your house Goodsteel, indeed on all who read this and who love our Lord.

I am late come to his glory and was a stubborn independant goat wandering in the wilderness for 40 years.
But he has called me into his fold and I come. I do what I can when I can but I am still not comfortable pushing or preaching the good word.
I am just a poor sinner who is trying to learn to be better.

Great post and a great start to this wonderful morn. Thank you.

Hallelujah! He is Risen! Oh Death where is thy sting?

Being the doubting father , I went along with it.
Then he joins RCIA, goes thru with all of it, and saturday easter vigil, he got baptized, confirmed, and communion, all in one fell swoop at Easter mass !!!!!
      The wedding is next saturday.
