Just got my Rossi 44mag and had a time getting a round down range, but now I’m on the other side of that project, I’m looking at performance. I got an NOE 434640 mold due to the barrel slugging out at 432. The bullet weighs out at 300g dressed with lube and gas check. There isn’t a lot of data at the 300g weight. All Lyman cast handbook lists load for the 900 to 1100fps range. I know that the rifle should get about 3 to 400 fps or more for the same loads. Then I came across Accurate/Ramshot’s 4100 and Enforcer. They list the 300g bullet load at 12 to 1300fps out of an 8″ barrel. That should cook coming out of a 20″. Has anyone used these? I do have IMR 4227 and some 2400 left. But this looks enticing.

I can’t speak to the powders or the cartridge. What I can offer is that after working with a 357 in a 6 in revolver vs an 18″ Marlin. I gained 350 to 425 fps no matter the load ,less with faster powder more with slower powder .
I haven’t checked the the H110 loads between the 7.5 Blackhawk vs 16 ” rifle but the Uniqueloads were a bit of a let down gaining only 200 fps I expect the H110 loads gained more but I have no desire to shoot those in the revolver at 1200 fps at 257-265 depending on bullet . I hope to work up a load for a 24″ Colts rifle with 4227 to “use” the barrel length .
I guess the point is be pleased if you gain what you’re looking for but don’t be surprised if it comes up slower.

Tell you the truth, I’d be happy with great accuracy at 1300 to 1400 fps or so. Just got a RD sheet that has a good number of powders listed. IMR4227, little gun, h110, 2400 the list goes on will be able to get me into that range.
