I posted some time ago that I had a 1895 Browning in 30-40. I got my digital micrometer back today and measured the barrel diameter at the muzzle at .688, so a rebore is possible. I was thinking of going to 405 Winchester by the way of JES, who I have used before. In the 405 I will likely use mostly jacketed bullets. I may make some low velocity cast rounds also. My question is, what groove count should I use? JES lists three.

Personally, I would prefer the 3 groove, but I don’t think it really matters in this case.
