My first centerfire rifle was a Marlin 336 30-30.
Dads favorite rifle was a 336 in 35 Remington.
Since those early years, I have always been connected to the lever rifle, and in truth, I’d take a lever over a bolt if you were to boil me for an answer.
In my mind, the lever action is somewhere in between a bolt action and a semi-auto, but it’s handier than either of them.
Here in the last few years, I have fallen madly in love with 45-70 lever actions, but the good ol 30-30 is the sleeper no doubt about it.
