It’s the same old thing: make it fit and you’re golden.
In my experience, the only GC bullets I powder coat are for the 45-70. I use alloy that fills out the mold very very well, so most of my GC shanks are almost too large for commercial checks in the first place. If the shanks were too small for the checks, I would PC first. Either way is fine, as long as things are tight and you wind up with good quality bullets with square bases.
