Do you think that they would heat treat the 45 Colt actions differently from the 44 Magnum actions? That is the whole argument with the Ruger 45 Colts and why they can can handle the higher pressure loads. From my understanding the S&W 45 Colt chambered revolver’s cylinders do not receive the same heat treatment as the 44 Magnums which is why they have the occasional blow up. You would think that if a 92 Rossi could handle a 44 Magnum load it should be able to handle a hotter 45 Colt load.

On the other hand the 44 magnum chambered 73’s on the other hand are recommended to stay down around 44 Special loadings. If I understand their recommendations correctly.
