Very well put.  I will add that most schools and public places were NOT designed with ANY security in mind.  Also, most school admin are ‘privileged’ and ‘educated’ people.   Yes, there are heroic people in schools that try to protect the kids, after the fact.  A few are beginning to realize the situation they are in.  There is an attempt to restrict access but no remedy for choke points of egress.  I used to train DISD (& convention/Olympics/prisons/airport) personnel in metal detector and xray use.  Nobody there was armed!!.  If they found a shooter, nothing to be done!! Cities spend a bunch of $ for gunshot detectors but DON’T put them in schools.  No active shooter alarms either.

Supposed to go to a ‘security’ meeting at church this week, it will be ‘interesting’.
